The SINTEF Group (Stiftelsen SINTEF) is the largest independent research organisation in Scandinavia. Every year, SINTEF supports the development of 2,000 or so Norwegian and overseas companies via our research and development activity. SINTEF has approximately 2000 employees, 1500 of which are located in Trondheim and 420 in Oslo. SINTEF also have offices in Bergen and Ålesund, in addition to offices in Houston, Texas (USA), Rio de Janeiro (Brasil), Chile, and a laboratory in Hirtshals (Denmark). SINTEF’s head office is in Trondheim.
SINTEF is divided into 7 Research Divisions. For DaPaaS, the department for Networked Systems and Services (NSS), within Information and Communication Technology (SINTEF ICT) will work on the project.
The department for Networked Systems and Services (NSS) provides research-based expertise in Internet of Services and Internet of Things technologies, cloud computing, semantic Web, model- driven development, quality and security technology, and user-centred development. NSS has lead several national research projects and has extensive experiences from EU projects, such as ENVISION, REMICS, PlanetData, ACE-GIS, ATHENA, INTEROP, MAPPER, MODELPLEX, MODELWARE, SODIUM, SWING and TRUSTCOM.
NSS will involve in the project the MODUS group. MODUS has been active in the development of various metamodels and languages, methods and tools for model-driven systems engineering, and more recently in the development of sensor and services technologies, big data and cloud computing.
